When Is The Best Time Of The Year To Walleye Fish?

What is the best time and season to go fishing for Walleye? Well this question has a couple answers. Spring is one of the best times to fish for walleye. Walleye feed during low light conditions (dusk and dawn). They also prefer feeding during windy and rainy conditions. Spring is also spawning season for Walleye. Remember to check the Department of Natural Resources for size charts and limits on fish for that state. Fall is another great time to go Walleye fishing. The cold water makes fish more enticed to eat and hunt. Walleye enjoy choppy water due to it making less light visibility in the water. This tactic is used as an advantage by the Walleye to get an edge on their prey. Thirty minutes before sunrise is a great time to aim for when fishing for Walleye. Walleye can feed through the night, but an hour after sunset is a good time to plan to pack in for the day. Seasons do change but not drastically. Fall tends to land in late September lasting until the last week of Dece

What We Do

EZHNT BLOG is a conservation centric blog that advocates for outdoor sport. It provides information about how sport greatly contributes to the cause of conservation. We are here to encourage people to get outdoors and take advantage of the outdoor activities that help fund the efforts of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It is imperative that we all work together to protect endangered species and their ecosystems. The money that goes towards licenses and tags to hunt, fish, and trap species with plentiful populations is used to directly fund the needs of species with less fortunate population numbers. These sporting activities are also a means of helping maintain healthy populations for the species that do thrive, thus, giving the species as a whole better and longer lives. We are trying to help keep our lands, water, and populations healthy for future generations of outdoor sportspeople.
